| Description: The millhouse is an old olive mill restored in 1995 and described vividly in the illustrated book "where the cypress rises-an Australian artist in Umbria" (available at www.amazon.com.)It has also been featured in magazines such as Australian `Country Style`. Beautifully furnished, it is available when the family is abroad (Artist/writer and Italian diplomat), presently most of the year.Our daughter, Chiara, who studies locally has a separate flat in the house and will offer any advice to guests. Built into the hillside rock,on two levels with spellbinding views towards Spoleto and Montefalco, the millhouse has a massive open plan sitting room (which could sleep 20, but that`s not our style), dining room and kitchen, internal courtyard and stairs which lead to a very rustic olive grove (and free-range tortoise colony, so no dogs please) and upstairs patio. The centre of the village of Trevi, famous for its olive oil (with restaurants,basic shops, churches and museums) is a short stroll through narrow medieval streets and cobble-stoned steps. In the centre of Italy`s `Green heart : Montefalco/Foligno -10 minutes. Perugia/Todi -30 minutes, Assisi/Spoleto/Bevagna -20 minutes. Trains to Rome 90 minutes. Hill walks, Horseriding, local swimming pool, festivals, vineyards, excellent food and wine, famous churches and museums: perfect for those wishing to combine art,history and landscape with a unique culinary experience. Stay in the house,get a sense of real life in an Umbrian village and read the book! | |
